Trump Indicted, Again!

Trump was just indicted .......again. This time it's federal. We all know what he did whether we admit it or not. When leaving the White House in January of 2021 he took a bunch of important files that he considered his with him. Problem, they belonged to the National Archives, not him. He acted like a big baby when they said they wanted them back and did all sorts of shady and illegal things to hold on to files that he wanted to keep and considered his but aren't. No, the FBI raid wasn't "robbery". It was "confiscating evidence" under a judge's warrant.

So, before the special council who indicted him was selected, Trump got a judge he appointed to assign a "special master" to make sure the FBI only took and kept what was in the warrant. That was appealed and her opinion overturned. Trump's favorite legal tactic is to make any move possible to delay a trial. Not the move of an innocent person but, it's worked so far. Until now.

That same judge, Aileen Cannon was now assigned to handle this indictment trial. I am under the personal assumption that Jack Smith, the special council, is already preparing the paperwork to appeal her ruling. Trump must be giddy, a republican jury and the favorable judge!

Don't blow up the party balloons yet, dude. Because it's FLORIDA. As in, DeSantis's state. As in, those republican jury members are more likely to look at Trump as a DeSantis electoral roadblock and might not be as Trump-friendly as he hopes. As for Ailene, it's her career. If too many of her rulings are later overturned, she is officially as high as she's getting. Will she still be heavily Trump-friendly in hopes that he'll nominate her to the supreme court in a second term? Yes. But he's unelectable in a general election so her ruling will be overruled in an appeal ......again. Without using common sense like other Trump-appointed judges, she finds herself at the peak of her career now.

Trump's ultimate goal is to get this to the supreme court with his 3 nominees. But some, even Brett Kavanaugh, have shown that they will rule against Trump. Actually, Kavanaugh has been slightly more moderate then given credit for! The evidence it too strong. In the end, he's getting charged with something. Probably not all of it. But definitely some of it. This is just going to take a while and many steps.

How about the election? Democrats and Trump GOP opponents have tried to crack the "lose Trump support" code. Here's the thing, he's a celebrity. The Trump-loyal are really just fans of a celebrity. He's an actor who creates fantasy worlds. It's sort of like a movie. He tells them the story they want to hear. When others try to show him as the Thanos/Megatron villain he is, they decide that he's the hero. It's a cult-like brainwashing that can't be undone. Too many GOP opponents know it and that's why they are catering to those same fantasies. We can thank Putin for these voters. Trump is going to be the nominee in 2024 whether he resides in Mar-a-Lago or a penitentiary somewhere.

He's not going to win in 2024 no matter President Biden's age. With Biden's kitchen table- bipartisan laws he's going to be seen as a safer option to the most people. It's going to be a low turnout election.

The bottom line is Republicans and Democrats both have a wish list and Trump and President Biden are not on it. I personally find myself saying, "Buttigieg 2028!" He's the real heir-apparent, sorry Kamala. At the same time, Trump's indictment in Florida might prove to be the best thing for DeSantis' campaign.
