Every Christmas tree has a story to tell. When someone was born, when a couple got married, family memories, personal memories and things that we like. This is our's. I mention it every year. Zach learned to crawl because of the Christmas tree. It's my favorite Christmas story EVER! That first night, we lite up the tree. The tree lit him up, figuratively.

It's hard to tell, but the tree is lit in this picture. We put up the tree on Black Weekend every year.
He's obsessed! The following year, it was hard to keep him in his high chair while we did the tree. This year, he put the tree together mostly himself. He plugs it in on most nights and hugs it sometimes.
It's not just the lights. It's the ORNAMENTS! While I put up the lights and garland, Zach takes charge of making the ornament piles. He decides who puts what on the tree. Josh and I get very small piles :)! Below are some special ornaments and the tree. Please read the captions underneath. They are part of our Christmas tree's story:

Zach made this for us two years ago When he was 4. He's always been talented in art! |
My Mom gave this to Josh as a Christmas present our first year. It's me on our wedding day. He hangs it before any of his other decorations every year! It's his favorite. |
I like this one because you attach it to one of the lights. It's lit up inside Santa's Sack. |
We got this for Zach for his first Christmas. Rabbits are my favorite animal. One was right outside his window the day we brought him home from the hospital. |
When We got married, I brought a lot of ornaments from my parent's house. Josh didn't have much. So a lot of his first Christmas gifts were ornaments. That included a 6 pack of NY Giants candy canes and a 6 pack of NY Yankee candy canes. When Zach was a baby he was heavily drawn to them. I think we have one of each left. Those first two years of Zach were hard on these ornaments! |
New ornaments for Zach this year. The only Ninja Turtle he's missing is Leonardo, the blue one |
More from that first Christmas married, These are 3 of 5 Lenox snowman band ornaments |
Can't have a tree without balls! This was more from Josh's first Christmas gifts. Zach insists on hanging these. |
I couldn't resist the Snowman bells bride and groom that first year. I hang the bride, he hangs the groom. 12 Christmas' later. Zach gets a kick out of these. |
Every year my dad makes us an ornament out of Zach's Christmas picture. This was last year. Photography is a hobby of his. |
This is from our first Christmas. We decided that year to get a hallmark ornament each year. But early on we got more then one. The tradition lasted about four years. On the bottom in a handle to spin and make the people dance. |
We got this star our first Christmas 12 years ago. I purposely chose the Star of Bethlehem. I wanted to incorporate the religious side of Christmas into our celebration.
