I have been following articles on the Montauk Monster. Basically, in July of 2008 a mysterious animal washed on the shore of a beach in Montauk, NY. Theories include things like a raccoon. Does this look like a raccoon to you?

Maybe it's a Jersey thing but I saw that and went "Hello! Raccoon? Really? 'Cuz I see the New Jersey Devil." Totally believable considering if the NJ Devil died on a beach in near its reported home and washed into an ocean it would be the Atlantic Ocean, the same ocean at Montauk. And he has legs so maybe he decided to check out the Jersey shore like everyone else in NJ.

No one knows for sure what the NJ Devil would look like and I don't mean this:
Although I'm sure there are NHL players who do consider Marty Broduer to be the actual NJ Devil I can assure you, he's not the one in the legend.
Why do I think the Montauk Monster is actually the NJ Devil? Well, the other explanations given don't make sense and the horns are suspicious to me. Rats and Raccoons have ears, not horns. If you didn't learn about the NJ Devil in school as part of state history I can understand not thinking of it as an option. No one has ever seen the NJ Devil so no one would be able to say for sure. But that's not a raccoon and just like I believe in Nessy, the Loch Ness Monster, I believe that the NJ Devil was real and apparently took a very untimely vacation. He was born in the 1700s according to legend but monster have way longer lives then people. Who knows when he died but that's the actual NJ Devil. There is a reason there is a magazine/website called "Weird NJ".
