When people ask how we stay so healthy my answer is easy "we don't eat organics". I'm sure some readers are dropping their jaws at that one. "But all the health professionals recommend it! Your son is going to be Autistic or have ADHD or (insert other dire fate here)". Personally, people said the same thing about going strait to formula and Zach never fit any of those bad things they claim can happen:
1. Fat: always well proportioned according to his doctor
2. Not knows when to stop eating: He might eat a lot but he stops when full on his own
3. Lack of bonding: Ummm, not an issue at all and a bonus is he's closely bonded with a lot of people
4. Slow developmentally: Most people confuse him for 3 because of his skills and size
Why:
I've read a lot of stories about mom's who had post-partum depression from feeling constantly "chained" to the baby but the depression goes away when they stop breastfeeding. Because of my other hormonal imbalances I thought it would be best to formula feed. We got to take turns feeding at night so I got more rest then most moms, making me more present for him when he needed me. For the record though as long as the breastfeeding mom uses a towel or something for privacy I don't care if she does it in public.
BUT WHY NO ORGANICS?
Apparently, I'm the only one who noticed that these three things became a problem around the same time as organics became popular.
1. ADHD diagnoses
2. Autism diagnoses
3. Rise in food allergies
Zach LOVES his nuts, mostly cashews. He's active but can sit still and pay attention and sometimes he's shy but most of the time he's social.
The FSA did a study claiming it's not more nutritious then regular non-organics but you have to pay for the article so I'm not posting that here. I have noticed that most food recalled recently has been organic and I don't even want to know what bugs and animals in nature have done to the food that went so deep it won't come off when washed. Think about it, cows eat the same grass they do their business on! You're eating animal dung! What if it's a sick cow?

Large longevity tests need to be done to link organics to what I listed above. Scientists won't do it because it would counter public opinion so the government won't fund that testing. For now, it's just a theory of mine but my kid is hardly ever sick, is yours?
Off to make chicken catchatorre, spaghetti, and salad. Nothing organic but all delicious and nutritious.
