"We don't know!" I said earlier that "I like pink" was Zach's first full sentence but that's not true. He has said this sentence for over a year. "We don't know!" He follows us into our room, or pushes us in there, then closes the door and in a stern voice says it punctuating each word, "we don't know." This is always followed by one or both of us asking "What don't we know?" that part goes unanswered.
Could a two year old (actually he was one when it started) really be that philosophical? Is he saying there are some things that don't have answers and we will never know the answers? I really doubt he understands the world good enough to know that we won't know what's in the future and that there are some things that either don't have answers or those answers will never be found. Is he saying we don't know about the future?
Or is he saying we don't understand him. That part I don't think is true. I have looked at the timing of when he does this and by now I think he does it to get a reaction out of us knowing we want to know what he means. When he first started it, it was (and still is) easy to figure out what he needs or wants so he wasn't saying that we don't know what he needs or wants.
He probably heard me say it in a sentence "We don't know what's going on but I'll try to find out" or something like that. He parrots part of our sentences while learning new words so I think he just attached himself to that part of the sentence because he liked it. That's the solution that makes the most sense. As far as if we ever will know what he means...............................we don't know.
