Pumpkins and A Walk Around Town

Yesterday was my birthday. I got an updated version of the camera I had from my parents. I know you are sick of just my thoughts so I have a short story and lots of pictures of a walk I took around town today. As you know, I grew up here. Enjoy the comments for the pictures but first.........

We went "pumpkin picking" at a local nursery (also in walking distance). Zach was finally old enough to choose pumpkins. He choose 9, including a small one that fits him perfectly. I put three in the yard and replace them as the squirrels eat at them to get to the seeds. That might be less of a problem since they aren't competing with rabbits because the landscapers dug up the bush the rabbits used as a hutch. Anyway, Zach loves his little pumpkin so I told him he can keep it in the house wherever he likes as a decoration. Now he brings me the pumpkin sometimes and said "decoration". We always get the pumpkins on the Saturday of or before my birthday.

Pumpkins

Where Zach decided to "decorate" with his pumpkin

Zach's favorite pumpkin. He's so cute with it

How my yard looks. 5 pumpkins are in the garage for when needed

Observations

I call these clouds my kind of cloudy day. Cumulus

Zach's Dr. I was one of his first patients

I never understood the whole paint rocks white thing whether as an address marker of decoration. I don't think it looks good.

I call the houses with this type of stoning and door "witch houses" I like the look though

Back to Elementary School

This fence always meant "almost there" turn left for the school

The part that was added is not in the picture.

This door is on the side of the building. I is the entrance door. All 5 grades lined up 1st to 5th with the fifth being by the wall. Each day the teacher for one grade would let us in. Monday was first grade and worked it's way through the week. Classes were way smaller in the 80's

The Kindergarten entrance is separate to the left of the other entrance.

When I was in the 5th grade, a classmate's father died suddenly. We planted this tree for him but it was in a different location when we planted it. Her mom was the Brownie troop leader.
