Lisa, my sister (in-law) has a skirt I have admired for about five years. It's a basic full length Denim Skirt. She got it from Kohls but they haven't had it since. I have been waiting for it to come back in style ever since and saved for it. Kohls got it in very recently, and as of this evening, are sold out. It had been posted for about a week when I stumbled on it this past weekend. By then they only had it in a 14, 16, and 18. This morning they only had 14 and 18 in one color, then they had 18 in that color (medium denim it's the one I ordered and want). Now they are sold out. I ordered it in 14 because that's the size the website said I am and that set off some diet-related depression. I have Croft and Borrow skirts in 10's and they are slightly tight but wearable. They are the waist size the website claimed 14 is. I ordered it to have it. It's a winter skirt for Christmas Eve and later New Year's Eve.
While waiting for this exact skirt to come out I found something close at Burlington Coat Factory for a doable $12.99 in clearance. That one is black denim full length pencil with fancy things on the front and back pockets and a rouched under-pockets. That's nice enough for New Year's Eve. It's a 9/10 so when that's too tight it'll go in the garage with the mini denim pencil skirt for summer. I'm 30 as great as my legs are I can't get away with a mini for much longer. This black denim pencil skirt is nice but young looking so when I'm too old for the mini, I'm too old for this. But the one I really wanted is ageless. The proof is in the sell-out speed. I have a basic knee length pencil skirt for summer. For winter and summer I have dressy pants too. Summer is dark denim Capri's and winter is dark denim boot cuts. Those are family related occasions. Date nights in summer is white denim Capri's with an orange short sleeve shirt that matches both the gold and silver sandals and their respective cardigans. Winter date nights are skirt sets. Those are Croft and Borrow plaid skirts with matching Apt. 9 long sleeve shirts.
As for MY skirt, it's finally here, sort of. The size 14 came today and is loose but wearable with a belt. The 12 Victoria Secret floral skirt still fits comfortably so that stopped the diet related depression. It's a lot less then budgeted so I'm getting it in 12 and 16 when they get it back. Now that I have the 14 I know the 12 would be the best fit but we are talking around the holidays so I'll get the 16 for the future just in case. I waited all this time for this one I'm not leaving things up to chance. OCDed that I am, I know they are getting more. Two customer service people used the word "guaranteed" which is retail speak for "if I say this and am wrong I'll get fired so I only say it when I have documentation that I'm right." I also talked to the Misses' Buyer today. Yup me and my phone are at it again.
Sharon was very, very nice. I told her about waiting for so long for it and what I loved about it. She said they have been ordered. It was a test item and due to it's popularity they plan to carry it long term. She took my contact information and will let me know when they have been shipped to be available in stock. She asked about my other buying habits and is having the sizing thing checked online since they didn't change how the skirts are made so it's a website listing issue. I told her about the Maroon Mockneck I got for winter and the fall shirts that are on the small side that I'm planning on replacing. She told me what's coming out in the fall (The burgundy leaves set will be replaced come September). She's looking into a long sleeve maroon for me but knows I have a Maude for that set so it's not the end of the world.
Here is the skirt and it's website it's 32" long and in Medium Denim:
