I have been reading about all of the excuses anti-vaxxers are using to say why they are not going to get the Covid Vaccine. I am also among the angry vaccinated people that want to scream at these same people "this could have been over if you weren't an unpatriotic coward! YOU are the reason the pandemic continues you selfish butt hole!" Let me address some of these concerns:
The Conspiracy Theory Bull Poo:
1. The government is using it to implant chips in you to track you!
DUDE! You are a conspiracy theorist nutcase! The government needs a warrant to track people. As in, they are only tracking people who have said or done something worthy of being tracked. If this is a legitimate fear of yours', then you clearly have done something bad enough to be worth tracking. Good thing they can do that with your cell phone and don't need a vaccine for that!
2. Covid is an overblown democratic thing! It's not real anyway. Even if it is, it's just like a cold and I am healthy.
Thank you for providing us democrats with the best tool to beat gerrymandering. Because the unvaccinated are 11% more likely to die then the vaccinated of covid. Meaning, it's republicans loading up the morgues, not democrats. Those are lost votes forever. If you want to blame politics, then blame republican losses on republicans who refused to get vaccinated and died.
The "Sounds Reasonable" Excuses:
This is where I get a little steamed. I used to have these very same concerns. So, I made an appointment with my trusted primary care doctor. We reviewed my health records and questions making it easier to get the vaccines. If these are the reasons you are giving. I have one question for you,
Why aren't you asking these questions to a doctor you trust?
If your answer is "I don't trust doctors" then you are lying about your true reasons for not getting the vaccine and a proving yourself to be an unpatriotic coward. You are clearly trying to avoid ridicule for your real reason or reasons which are one of the above.
1. It was rushed.
Yes and no. It was based off of a vaccine already being developed and researched. That vaccine was starting to be developed in 2014 after the SARs epidemic. Meaning, this sucker was in development for 6 years. They just modified it when they got the genomes for covid-19. It was far from rushed! That's why it is so effective.
2. It's not approved yet. I don't want to be tested on.
Ummm, that doesn't work anymore. Pfizer was fully approved. Go look for a Pfizer vaccine.
3. They don't know what's in it.
Actually, they do. That's why I called my doctor. Even if you had trouble with a pervious vaccine for something else, they can look at your records and tell you if you will have a problem with the actual vaccine or not.
REAL Reasons:
We will never has a 100% vaccination rate. That's because there are legitimately people who can't safely get the vaccine. These AREN'T the people frustrating those of us who are vaccinated. Because we understand that they would if they could.
1. I have medical reasons.
Some people are immunocompromised. Others, have had allergic reactions to the ingredients. If a doctor has reviewed your medical history and agrees it's not safe for you. Then, it's better that you don't get it. It's even more important that those around you HAVE been vaccinated.
Some people will use this excuse to sound reasonable without having asked a doctor about it. If you are saying "medical reasons" so you don't get judged, you are a coward that needs to get your pa toot to a doctor. If you LEGITIMATELY have medical issues, then it's easier to respect that.
2. I can't for religious reasons.
This is weak. Yes, some religious leaders will write and exemption. But, even the Pope has blessed getting the vaccine. There aren't that many religions, if any, that are against this vaccine. Maybe Jehovah's Witnesses but, that's really it.
It's well known the President Biden finally cracked down on the anti-vax crackpots on Thursday. That's it, all employers of 100 or more people require a vaccine, proof or a real reason (above under real reason), or a weekly Covid test. They can't just easily quit and find a new job since this applies to a massive percentage of employers. This is impossible to fight in court. Here is why,
1. You can't claim it violates religious liberty because there is a religious exemption. Get a note from the right person and you're good.
2. It's not a mandate. You're not forced to get the vaccine. You have a choice, vaccine or weekly testing. So, it's your decision. Now, Covid tests are awkward. But, it's a reasonable choice.
3. There is precedence. Twice the Supreme Court ruled that public safety overrides personal opinions and have allowed vaccines to be mandated.
