7. C. C. Sabathia of the Yankees might play in the Bronx but lives in East Brunswick, NJ. He's not the only pro athlete to do that.

8. In my part you are close enough to the city (Manhattan, NY) to work there but enjoy the quiet and peaceful suburbs.

9. We are mentioned on TV all the time. In fact, long ago a KFC commercial that started "Folks here in Kentucky" was filmed at my friends house in a nearby town. There also is a reference to my area in How I Met Your Mother when they mention another nearby town, West Orange (In We're Not From Around Here" season 3) and Will and Grace mentions Montclair, a nearby town. (Looking for Mr. Good Enough" season 6) Brad Pitt filmed a movie here in 1998/1999, my senior year of HS (I forget the movie) There are other Jersey references all over entertainment. A surprising amount from this area. There are more then just the ones I mentioned.

10. Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi among others

Every state is awesome for their own reasons but there are reasons why Jersey girls are so proud to be Jersey girls.
