Spring Is Coming!!!

Actually, in my apartment, Spring arrived yesterday in the form of the Spring and March Decorating Day! But it's still cloudy and gloomy so even when the temperature reads in the low 40s it feels like the high 30s. Winter has been so long I'm guessing most of you are like me and searching for as much Spring as you can find! As of today, here's our 10 day weather forecast:

Starting this Thursday, it'll feel more like March around here. Next Saturday Josh gets the soil. It's going to be a great afternoon for the Pachysandra work I have to do while he does it. I have to remove the dead or diseased Pachysandra. Some got too much sun but the real problem is all the mulch and for a while there were a lot of wet leaves on it. Luckily, I got a small rake to take care of moving the mulch and removing the leaves in the future. After that, I will take healthy Pachysandra in front of the Japanese Holly and fill in spaces left in general and by the removed sick Pachysandra. In the spot in front of the Japanese Holly (bush), I will be planting two Sella D'Oro Daylilies in early April and three Daffodils in September: Daffodil, Daylily, Daffodil, Daylily, Daffodil.

I am keeping the Pachysandra next to the bush but the Horizontal part of the L will be replaced from the Sidewalk in

It's time to get in a Spring mood so here are some Spring things recently:

1. My Hyacinth bulbs can be seen from farther away (pictured below)

2. Zach's Tulip bulbs are big too (pictured below)

3. I had to tend the Hyacinths! My first Gardening of the season!! (cut the dead parts of the leaves off from when they were above ground dormant in January. Usually, you don't cut the leaves only the stems when dead but I will be replacing them in September anyway)

4. I am able to take 3 different walks a day including two days this week when I walked for two hours total or more!!!

5. Gardening and Patio things are at KMart and Target!

6. Slightly less bundling is needed when we go outside

7. It's been warm enough in the afternoons for Zach to walk if it's not raining

8. We are talking about Summer plans

9. My Mom has let me talk about my plan for my garden at her house for longer then five minutes!!!

10. Neighbors are outside more and we are more likely to take time to chat since it's not as bitter.

I know some of those things are only for us but I hope I inspire everyone to look around for their own signs of Spring. Big or small, they all mean hope and new life. I think it would be easier for me this week if it wasn't cloudy and/or windy for 9 of the last 10 days. Either way SPRING IS COMING.......BUT IT'S GETTING HARD TO CONTINUE BEING PATIENT!!! I'll make it.
